The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in the state of California he was 55 years old.

His passing was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The celebrated industry figure died after his car crashed and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, as reported by.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to his family and friends, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his legacy," an official with Electronic Arts stated.
