Triple MVP Jokic suffers a 'devastating' knee injury.
Three-time National Basketball Association MVP Jokic endured a "devastating" injury to his knee when the Denver Nuggets fell 147-123 to the Heat.
The star player was hurt towards the end of the second quarter in an accidental contact with fellow Nugget Jones.
The other player landed on the footwear of the big man, and he immediately went down to the court grabbing his knee.
The veteran player, that tops the NBA this season in boards and assists, recorded 21 points and eight assists in the game before suffering the injury.
The player will undergo an MRI on the following day to evaluate the severity of the issue.
"Instantly, he realized something was wrong," stated Denver coach Adelman.
"Injuries are part of the game. Anyone that is injured, it's difficult, especially somebody as talented as him. More information will come on Tuesday."
"The team will adjust together. Clearly, right now, I am focused about Jokic as a person and the frustration of going through a situation of that nature."
