President Trump Calls Families of Attacked National Guard Soldiers to White House

Former President Donald Trump stated on Sunday that he has asked the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the presidential home.

He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Tragic Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Gatherings across the state have taken place in their remembrance.

Presidential Invitation

The president said he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the state National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees gathered over the past few days at a local school in the state to honor Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s government program to aid public safety in the capital.

Honoring the Soldier

“Sarah was the kind of student that instructors wished for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” the principal, the leader of her alma mater, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Judicial Measures and Government Adjustments

Officials have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with one count of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event prompted the administration to pause asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi informed a news show that she aimed to speak to his relatives.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from her high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had bravery,” the governor informed the crowd at the service. “Though her life ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
