Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
Officials reported missile fragments landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
