Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former physician now faces charges for committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
