Actor Denies Anti-Vax Position Following Lending His Voice To Contentious Coronavirus Documentary
Liam Neeson has given his voice to a new documentary that questions the efficacy of immunizations and praises former government figure RFK Jr.
The Film's Disputed Basis
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a popular book co-authored by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the global outbreak for allegations that the virus was linked to a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.
The book's co-author, a producer, has penned books with controversial figure a known commentator. Heckenlively wrote online celebrating Neeson's role in the documentary.
A Firm Statement
The team of Neeson have issued a statement strongly denying suggestions that he holds anti-immunization beliefs.
"Everyone can understand that misconduct might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be conflated with being against vaccines," the statement explains. "He has never been, and is not, anti-vax. His long work with Unicef reinforces his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement noted that the performer did not shape the film's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions ought to go to the filmmakers.
Key Claims Featured in the Feature
According to the documentary, the script read by Neeson includes several strong statements:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
- It declares that "medical science has become highly politicised."
- Kennedy is shown stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
- The film takes aim at Covid lockdowns, saying they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it cites a perspective that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Previous Controversy and Current Disputes
It also references a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the topic of a correction by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.
In recent weeks, Kennedy called on the Centers for Disease Control to alter its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is repeated in the documentary, despite a fresh analysis from the global health body confirming no connection has been found.
A Past Record of Support
Contrasting the film's tone, Neeson has formerly expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible triumph," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."
The film ends with Neeson's narration proclaiming, "This marks not the conclusion of our journey. This is the start of a fresh chapter."
